Kuhmo Nectar Summer School of ITEA

The Kuhmo Nectar Summer School of ITEA is organized annually. The Summer School offers a high-quality program covering recent advances in transportation and urban economics and is targeted to PhD students, practitioners, and practicing researchers from related fields. (Jointly with the Summer School is organized a conference of the same name.)

The Summer School has been highly successful in attracting young researchers from around the world.

The Kuhmo Nectar Summer School started in the town of Kuhmo, Finland in 2006, followed by Urbino, Italy 2007, Amsterdam, the Netherlands 2008, Copenhagen, Denmark 2009, and Valencia, Spain 2010.

In 2011, the Summer School was hosted by the Centre for Transport Studies (CTS), The Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. In 2012, the Summer School was held in Berlin, and was hosted by the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin.

In 2013, the Summer School will move to North America, hosted by the Transportation Center at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, immediately adjacent to Chicago.
